Siraj Shah is a multifaceted media professional with nearly two decades of experience spanning journalism, filmmaking, media consulting, and storytelling. He began his career in television journalism, gaining recognition for his work as a reporter, researcher, and anchor. His natural flair for narrative and visual expression later led him into film, where he has since made a lasting mark.


As an Associate Director, Siraj has collaborated with some of India’s most respected filmmakers, contributing to over ten films that have received national and international accolades. His own productions include the acclaimed short film The House of Orange Trees and more than 300 documentaries, shorts, and commercials. These cover a wide array of themes—from environmental conservation and cultural heritage to tourism, archaeology, art, and the wonders of underwater life.


Siraj’s work has found global audiences, with notable films such as Rhapsody of Rains – Monsoons of Kerala, Emeralds from Granite, and Forest Saga – The Tales of Biodiversity of the Western Ghats receiving critical acclaim. As a screenwriter and director, he is known for crafting compelling visual narratives that resonate deeply with viewers.


Beyond the creative domain, Siraj has served as a media consultant to several prominent personalities and institutions, including Dr. Shashi Tharoor, former UN Under-Secretary-General and Union Minister, offering guidance on media strategy and content development.


His deep commitment to environmental awareness, combined with his storytelling prowess, makes him a vital contributor to the Miyawaki Nature Lab’s mission of inspiring eco-conscious thinking through visual media.
