Darshan Rajendrakumar is the Director of Projects at the Agriculture and Ecosystem Management Group (AGES) and a driving force behind numerous eco-restoration efforts. With 33 years of experience spanning the corporate world and entrepreneurship, he brings a unique blend of strategic thinking, project execution, and environmental advocacy to his role.
An engineer by training, with a degree in Instrumentation and a postgraduate diploma in Marketing Management, Darshan combines technical knowledge with strong communication and coordination skills. He is also a certified marathon coach—reflecting his personal commitment to discipline, endurance, and wellness—and approaches environmental work with the same passion and consistency.
As part of a dedicated team of environmental professionals, Darshan has played a key role in creating over 100 Miyawaki model mini forests across Kerala. These projects have helped revive native ecosystems, enhance local biodiversity, and mitigate the impacts of climate change. Recognizing the broader relevance of such efforts, he has also extended the Miyawaki model to Karnataka, adapting the methodology to suit new terrains and communities.
